A SEVILLE TEENAGER was arrested this week after he threatened his English teacher with a 20 centimetre shard of broken glass in front of classmates.
According to police, the 14-year-old pupil of a secondary school in the city’s La Barzola neighbourhood held the shard of glass up and told the teacher he would “slit her throat”.
The arrest comes after the teacher made a formal complaint to police about the pupil’s behaviour. Other incidents involved spitting on the floor and windows of the class, throwing chairs and tables around, destroying other pupils’ property, pushing other pupils and threatening to “smash the teacher’s head in”.
The teenager was released after making a statement. Seville’s youth court is investigating whether to bring charges against the youth.
